Reports have linked Chelsea with a move for Barcelona striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Thomas Tuchel and Aubameyang know each other well from their time at Borussia Dortmund, and the Chelsea boss wants Aubameyang at Stamford Bridge.

According to Spanish media outlet Mundo Deportivo, Xavi has made it clear to Aubameyang that he wants him to be part of his Barcelona squad this season, despite the signing of Robert Lewandowski.

The report also claims that Barcelona have not received contact from Chelsea about the possibility of signing Aubameyang.

Meanwhile, when asked about Chelsea’s approach for Aubameyang who had a record of 79 goals during his time at Borussia Dortmund with Thomas Tuchel, Tuchel said: “I would be interested in the 79 goals actually. We will not comment further.

“There are a lot of names out there, sometimes it’s due to the fact that we discuss a lot of names and sometimes it’s pure speculation and we will not get involved.”

According to reports from Spain, Aubameyang is also not thinking of leaving Barcelona.

A source close to Aubameyang told Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo: “Auba is very happy at Barca and he’s not thinking about leaving.”

Meanwhile, Chelsea are also being linked with RB Salzburg striker Benjamin Sesko, as Thomas Tuchel is keen on one more forward player this summer.

It will be nice if Chelsea signs Aubameyang to serve as its main striker because the team lacks somebody of that sought. Judging from their first league match signifies that they need a typical striker like Aubameyang who can provide the team with goals to push them forward
