Chelsea have been strongly linked with a move for Leicester City defender Wesley Fofana.

Despite the signing of Marc Cucurella, Chelsea are still targeting another defender this summer.

Chelsea had seen a bid of £60m rejected by Leicester City for their star defender, Fofana.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference on Friday afternoon, Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers sent a warning to Chelsea that his players aren’t for sale.

Rodgers said: “These players are not for sale. These are very important players to us.

“We’re in a situation where we need to move some players out but that doesn’t mean getting rid of anyone and everyone and especially not our best assets.”

Fofana is said to be keen on a move to Chelsea, and the Blues are aiming to get this deal done in no time.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano claims that Chelsea have submitted a fresh £70m bid for Fofana.

Romano said: “Chelsea have submitted a fresh proposal for Wesley Fofana on Friday in excess of £70m. Leicester have turned down the proposal, Rodgers also insists he’s not for sale.

“…but Chelsea are determined to try again for Fofana.

“The player would be 100% keen on the move.”
