According to reports, Chelsea are set to make a shocking swoop for Barcelona striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Aubameyang may be available, following Barcelona’s signing of Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Chelsea are going for Aubameyang.

Romano has claimed: “Chelsea are now considering Pierre Emerick Aubameyang as potential new striker. Discussions have already started on player side, still no bid to Barcelona. #CFC

“He’s one of the names in Chelsea list after meeting for Sesko and other targets.”

Thomas Tuchel and Aubameyang know each other well from their time at Borussia Dortmund.

It was under the Chelsea boss that Aubameyang gained prominence as one of the best goalscorers in Europe, scoring 79 goals in two years across all competitions.

Aubameyang, 33, left Arsenal for Barcelona January this year, and scored 11 goals in 17 La Liga matches last season.

Chelsea are also targeting RB Salzburg striker Benjamin Sesko. Real Madrid and Manchester United have also been linked with the highly-rated 19-year-old.

  1. Buying of Aubameyang is not big news. Why can’t Chelsea build this boy who came back from Saints & let them compete?
