Chelsea have confirmed the signing of American goalkeeper Gabriel Slonina.

Chelsea released an official statement, thus: “American goalkeeper Gabriel Slonina has completed a permanent transfer to Chelsea.

“The 18-year-old has signed a six-year contract with the Blues, joining us from MLS side Chicago Fire where he will return on loan to complete their season before moving to west London at the start of 2023.”

Chelsea reached an agreement with MLS team Chicago Fire for U.S. youth international goalkeeper Gabriel Slonina for a base fee of $10 million that could rise to $15m with add-ons.

The 18-year-old has signed a six-year contract with Chelsea, and is the club’s third signing of the summer.

Slonina will stay with the MLS team on loan for their current season before joining Chelsea.
