Chelsea legend John Terry was the last player to wear the No. 26 Jersey at Chelsea.

Terry is unarguably the greatest defender in the club’s history and one of the greatest to have played for the club.

Terry, aka Mr Chelsea, is a Blue through and through, and reached legendary status after graduating from Cobham.

There were talks about retiring the No. 26 jersey in honour of John Terry, but it never happened.

Kalidou Koulibaly who also wore the No. 26 shirt for Napoli, has sought Terry’s permission to wear the No. 26 jersey at Chelsea.

Terry felt honoured that Koulibaly requested to don the No. 26, and he gave the new Chelsea man his blessings.

“The 26 was very special to me, I really appreciate you calling,” Terry said in response.

“It’s no problem for me for you to take it, absolute pleasure. I wish you well because I know how important the number was for me and I’ve seen you wear 26 as well.

“My pleasure mate, I give you the 26.”

Terry added: “No pressure mate. You go and keep winning trophies for us.”

Koulibaly seems to be a brilliant signing, and has already slotted in well at the club.
