Since missing out on a deal for Sevilla defender Jules Kounde, Chelsea have now turned attention to Leicester City defender Wesley Fofana, according to reports.

Reports have it that Leicester City will demand a world record fee for a defender to part with Wesley Fofana this summer.

Leicester City sold Harry Maguire to Manchester United in 2019 for a world record fee for a defender, as United paid a massive £80m transfer fee.

Despite being just 21, Fofana has become a key part of the Foxes team, and recently signed a new long-term contract with the Foxes.

Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers has now said that the club won’t be letting go of Fofana.

Asked about the speculation surrounding his young defender, Rodgers replied: “Naturally, he’s a top talent.

“He’s not for sale. He still has lots of improvements to make. He’s very happy here, he really enjoys being here.

“Naturally he will attract the interest of other clubs. Our job, in not signing anyone so far, is to at least keep the players we have. I know that’s the intention of the club.”
