Raheem Sterling had another good pre-season outing, as Chelsea defeated Udinese 3-1 away in Italy.
On the 37th minute, Raheem Sterling finished off a fine pass from Jorginho to score the second goal for Chelsea.
“It was the first time Sterling would score in a Chelsea shirt, and Thomas Tuchel was delighted to see the creativity of the England international on show.
“Of course he had chances, was heavily involved in other chances. It was a good performance,” said the Blues boss.
Chelsea paid £47.5m for the 27-year-old England international, as he became Chelsea’s first signing of the Todd Boehly era, and former Chelsea defender Glen Johnson believes it’s a transfer business Man City may regret.
Glen Johnson said: “I think [Manchester City could regret selling Raheem Sterling to Chelsea]. It could be a potential banana skin because he is a great player, Chelsea have a decent squad, and they are going to be competing.
“You just don’t know. If Raheem Sterling hits the ground running then he could easily pop up with fifteen goals a season and plenty of assists and they’ll win a few more matches than they did last year. I think it’s a tricky one for City.”
