Chelsea’s move for Sevilla defender Jules Kounde has since been hijacked by Barcelona.
The Blues have also missed out on defensive targets like Nathan Ake and Matthijs de Ligt.
According to reports, Chelsea have now turned to Leicester City defender Wesley Fofana.
According to Sky Sports, Chelsea are interested in signing the highly-rated Leicester City defender, Fofana.
The 21-year-old defender can play either side, left or right centre-back, and fits Thomas Tuchel’s requirements.
Despite being just 21, Fofana has become a key part of the Foxes team, and played 28 league games for Brendan Rodgers side last season, even though he suffered a fibula fracture at the start of the 2021/22 season.
The young defender recently signed a contract extension with the Foxes, that will keep him at Leicester City till 2027.
Following his new long-term contract, it will take big bucks to price him out of the King Power Stadium.
