Chelsea left-back Ben Chilwell started his pre-season earlier than the rest of his team-mates.
Chilwell returned to Cobham earlier in order to work on his fitness, having missed more than half of last season.
The 25-year-old returned to Chelsea towards the end of last season following a knee surgery.
Chilwell has explained that that it was necessary for him to work so hard.
“All pre-seasons are pretty important but coming off the back of the injury I’ve had, it’s important I work harder than everyone else, to make sure I’m ready when the season starts,” Chilwell said.
“When the boys came back in I felt sharp and fit and ready to go and that’s continued now.
“So I’m very happy and looking forward to hopefully starting the season on a strong note. Hopefully we can have a great season together.”
