Chelsea’s pre-season tie with Charlotte FC which was initially billed for 7:30pm local time (00:30am UK time), has been delayed.
Due to severe weather conditions, the game was extended by an hour and 35 minutes.
Charlotte FC released a statement, thus: “Severe weather and lightning is in the area. Shelter in place is in effect and gates are closed. Gates will re-open when shelter in place is lifted.
“We will provide further updates when available.”
Chelsea have confirmed the new kick-off: “We have a new kick-off time here in Charlotte due to the recent weather conditions.
We’ll get underway at 8.35pm local time! 👊
