Chelsea midfielder Billly Gilmour is well down the pecking order at Chelsea, after what was deemed an unsuccessful loan spell with Norwich City last season.
Nicknamed the Scottish Iniesta, Gilmour was touted as one of the players to watch out for in the future after making his debut under Frank Lampard in the Chelsea senior side.
The young midfielder was very impressive in the second half of the 2019/20 campaign. But then, a knee injury kept him out for a considerable period, which hampered his growth.
Afterwards, Gilmour never became a regular again with Chelsea, following the appointment of Thomas Tuchel.
The 21-year-old spent the last season with Norwich City on loan, playing 24 times for the Canaries in the top flight, but Norwich’s relegation display never helped his cause.
According to reports, Everton boss Frank Lampard is pushing for Gilmour to join the Toffees on loan.
Already, the 21-year-old Scotland international has been dropped from the senior pre-season squad and isn’t in Thomas Tuchel’s plan for next season.
With two years left on his contract, Gilmour’s Chelsea future is up in the air yet again.
