Conor Gallagher had a very good season on loan with Crystal Palace last season.
The 22-year-old ended up being Crystal Palace Player of the Season last term.
However, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has vowed to give Gallagher a chance next season.
At the end of last season, Patrick Vieira had hoped to have Gallagher for another year, either on loan or a permanent deal.
The Palace boss has now accepted that Gallagher won’t be coming back to Selhurst Park.
After initially laughing off the question asked about Gallagher’s future, Vieira said: “At the moment I don’t think there is any chance because he is a Chelsea player.
“He did fantastically well for us, but he is in pre-season with Chelsea and honestly we wish him all the best. I don’t think there is a way to get him back.”
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has backed Conor Gallagher to be a big asset to the team next season.
Tuchel said; “He made a huge step in his development in this year and became a player for England, and we can see this clearly in training. It is a very good start from him and it was a good match from him.
“Now it is important that he gets used to our principles of the game, to understand when to move when not to move, but his work-rate is outstanding and this can be a big asset for us.”
