Liverpool midfielder Fabinho, has predicted that the 2022-23 season will even be tougher than last season.
Manchester City won the league last season, and it was closely fought by City and Liverpool, with City winning the league with just a point above Liverpool.
Chelsea were in the race for the title last season until the Blues crashed out in December.
Fabinho has said that the competition will be tougher this new season, as all the top sides have strengthened massively.
Liverpool have brought in Darwin Nunez this summer in an attempt to topple City at the top of the Premier League standings, but Fabinho still believes that Pep Guardiola’s reigning champions are still the favourites to win.
Fabinho has warned that Chelsea have strengthened well, and also Tottenham and Arsenal.
Fabinho told The Athletic: “City are always buying new players, always reinforcing their team. This summer was no different with [Erling] Haaland joining them. I think it will be a really good battle with them, but not just them.
“Tottenham have bought some good players, Arsenal too with Gabriel Jesus going there, Chelsea too. Everyone has been reinforcing because everyone wants to beat City. That means the Premier League will be at a really good level this season.”
I think the blue next season, I’ll be smart as comparing last season.
