Chelsea beat Mexican side Club America 2-1 in our first pre-season game of the American tour.

The Blues took the lead in the 55th minute through Timo Werner but Club America levelled the scores five minutes later through a Reece James own goal.

Man of the Match Mason Mount scored the winner for Chelsea in the 83rd minute from just outside the box.

Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher featured in the first-half against the Mexican side, and he impressed Thomas Tuchel with his energetic performance.

The Chelsea boss was impressed by Conor Gallagher and most part of his game, and speaking after the game, Tuchel admitted the young midfielder may have to understand how Chelsea play, in terms of his movements on and off the ball.

Tuchel said: “I count on the fact that as they become more experienced, they maybe become more calm and adapt more and more.

“They’re still young players and what we want from them is that they stay confident, stay focused, and do what they need to do as strikers.

“With Conor, it is the same as a midfielder. He trains on a very high level and we can clearly see that it was the right decision to let him go on loan.

“He made a huge step in his development in this year and became a player for England, and we can see this clearly in training. It is a very good start from him and it was a good match from him.

“Now it is important that he gets used to our principles of the game, to understand when to move when not to move, but his work-rate is outstanding and this can be a big asset for us.”

Chelsea for life. We need a player like him pairing with Mount, Ngolo and kovaic in some strength games to really disturb the peace of our opponents while sterling, Timo and ziyech trouble up-front. Thanks coach

I think Christmas will be too far for his sacking. He needs to get the best out of the players. Get faith in our young players. Timo, pulisi, hakim, gallegar all needs substantial playing time.
