Chelsea beat Mexican club Club America 2-1 in our first pre-season game of the American tour.
After a goalless first half, Timo Werner gave Chelsea the lead in the 55th minute. Reece James, who bombed forward at every opportunity, delivered a brilliant cut-back for Werner, who had his first shot saved but scored the rebound.
Five minutes later, Club America drew level through an own goal from Reece James. The England international played a back pass to Bettinelli but with the goalkeeper out of his line, the ball rolled into the net.
Chelsea took the lead again in the 83rd minute through a special goal scored by Mason Mount. The midfielder jinked past an onrushing Club America player and fired the ball into the far corner from outside the box.
It was a goal worthy of winning any football match.
Chelsea played in our usual 3-4-3 system with Thomas Tuchel playing two different XI in each half. Mount played alongside Jorginho in central midfield in the second half and the England international impressed.
