Senegal international Kalidou Koulibaly has completed his move to Chelsea, the club confirmed in the early hours of Saturday.
Kalidou Koulibaly is the second player to join Chelsea this summer. The defender arrives from Napoli and has signed a four-year deal at Stamford Bridge.
Koulibaly, captain of the Senegal national team, is widely regarded as one of the best centre-backs in world football, and he has been signed as a replacement for the departed Antonio Rudiger.
Chelsea legend John Terry has hailed the signing of Koulibaly.
“Welcome to @chelseafc Good Luck mate 💙 26 💙,” Terry commented on Chelsea’s Instagram post introducing the new signing.
The Chelsea legend added on another Instagram post: “Top signing this is 👏🏻.”
Chelsea striker Timo Werner also hailed the signing of Kalidou Koulibaly, as he told Sky Sports: “He’s a brilliant defender, so he will give us the strength at the back, what we need after a lot of players who left us in the defence.
“A very good signing for the club, a good player, what I saw and played against him, when we played against Napoli. He brings exactly what we need.”
