Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante has a year left on his contract with the club.
The 31-year-old had an injury hit season last term and has gotten the attention of some of Chelsea’s rivals.
Arsenal and Manchester United are believed to be monitoring Kante’s situation at Chelsea, as he would be a free agent at the end of the season.
Former Chelsea defender Glen Johnson has said he doesn’t see Kante joining Arsenal if he eventually leaves Chelsea.
“Any team would want N’Golo Kante,” Johnson told BettingOdds.com.
“We all know what he does and what he’s going to do because he delivers every time he plays.
“I can’t see Chelsea letting him go to Arsenal to be honest. Arsenal are nowhere near a threat to Chelsea, so I can’t see N’Golo wanting to go there just yet.
“He’s got plenty more in the tank.”
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has bemoaned N’Golo Kante’s absence in the pre-season tour of the US.
Tuchel has hailed Kante as a key player and wants him very involved next season.
He said: “We need N’Golo Kante to have more minutes on the pitch. He is one of our key figures and the key players need to be on the pitch, otherwise they cannot be key players, so this is how we are handling things at the moment.”
