After what has been like a slow start to the summer transfer window for Chelsea, Chelsea are finally getting some of their targets.
Chelsea have signed up Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli.
According to confirmed reports, the Senegal international has completed his medical in London, and has signed a four-year deal with the club.
Koulibaly is now set to join up with the rest of the Chelsea team for pre-season in Los Angeles.
Transfer expert confirmed the deal: “Kalidou Koulibaly can be considered new Chelsea player. It’s all signed and completed. #CFC
▫️ Contract signed, four year deal + option for further season.
▫️ Documents completed between Napoli and Chelsea for €40m.
▫️ Medical successfully completed in London, now 🛩 LA.”
Napoli boss Luciano Spalletti has since reacted to news of Koulibaly making a move to Chelsea.
Koulibaly has been a Napoli player for 8 years, and has gone on to be a legendary figure at the club.
Spalletti has however revealed that they’d wish the Senegal international well if he does make a move to Stamford Bridge.
“I prefer Koulibaly to be with us always, especially as he would be captain this season,” said coach Spalletti during this evening’s Q&A with the fans.
“If he chooses to leave, we will never stop thanking him for all the help he has given us. If he wants to choose something else, we wish him all the best, because he deserves it.
“And woe betide anyone who says otherwise to him.”
