Chelsea have made some bold moves in the transfer market this window.
The Blues have signed Raheem Sterling and also missed attacking targets like Raphinha and Ousmane Dembele.
Chelsea were also being linked with a move for Bayern Munich attacker Snerge Gnabry, but that move has also collapsed, as the German has opted to sign a new contract with Bayern Munich.
Reports had claimed that Gnabry wasn’t keen on moving to Chelsea because of his links with Blues rivals, Arsenal.
Meanwhile, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has also claimed that Chelsea’s move for Nathan could as well collapse.
Chelsea were closing in on a move for Ake, and the Blues had already agreed personal terms with the Netherlands international.
The Athletic claims City were not keen on selling Ake in this window, seeing his versatility as a crucial part of Pep Guardiola’s side.
Romano tweeted: “Manchester City internal decision: Oleksandr Zinchenko can leave the club, Arsenal are prepared to submit an official proposal. #AFC
“Nathan Aké stays at the club after talk with Guardiola despite personal terms agreed with Chelsea. #MCFC
“Chelsea, still working on Kimpembé.”
Chelsea will now turn attention to other defensive targets.
I think that can work if we get raphinha
