Chelsea have confirmed a £45million deal to sign England international winger Raheem Sterling from Manchester City.
Raheem Sterling is now a Chelsea player and has teamed up with the Chelsea squad for pre-season in the US.
Chelsea are far from done in the transfer market, and the Blues are now expecting a second deal to be confirmed soon.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Kalidou Koulibaly is expected to be announced as a new Chelsea player soon.
The 31-year-old has already agreed personal terms with Chelsea, and the Blues have as well agreed terms with Napoli for his transfer.
Romano wrote on his twitter page: “Paperworks signed between Chelsea and Napoli for Kalidou Koulibaly deal for €40m. All completed now, he will sign in the morning – then will fly to Los Angeles. #CFC
“Koulibaly will be unveiled as second Chelsea signing very soon. Here we go confirmed.”
Koulibaly’s move to Chelsea went smoothly, and reports claim the 31-year-old was signed for around €38million.
Koulibaly made 27 Serie A appearances last season for a Napoli side that finished third in the table while also helping Senegal win their first-ever African Cup of Nations.
Napoli manager Luciano Spalletti has given his blessing for Koulibaly to join Chelsea.
“I prefer Koulibaly to be with us always, especially as he would be captain this season,” Spalletti said during a Q&A session with fans as quoted by Football Italia.
“If he chooses to leave, we will never stop thanking him for all the help he has given us. If he wants to choose something else, we wish him all the best, because he deserves it.
“And woe betide anyone who says otherwise to him.”
