While Chelsea are making plans to strengthen the defence, young Chelsea defender Levi Colwill is thinking of leaving the club.
Already, Chelsea are set to announce the signing of Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli, while former Blue Nathan Ake is also set to join the club.
Chelsea are also being linked with a move for PSG defender Presnel Kimpembe, as Thomas Tuchel is targeting three experienced centre-backs.
Young Blue Levi Colwill, who’s very highly rated at the club is now thinking of an exit route.
The 19-year-old is currently with the team in US, as Thomas Tuchel prepares his squad for the new season.
The teenager has made it clear he wants to play regular first-team football next season but that will be quite impossible if Chelsea have Thiago Silva, Trevoh Chalobah, Koulibaly, Ake and Kimpembe all on their books.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Colwill wants to leave Chelsea on a permanent transfer.
He wrote on Twitter: “More on Chelsea. Levi Colwill, now likely to leave on a permanent deal this summer – as Tuchel and Boehly are working to sign three top centre backs. #CFC
“Chelsea and Levi Colwill will make a decision soon – as Koulibaly deal is done, Kimpembé and Aké in talks.”
Speaking in May, Colwill who enjoyed a fine season on loan with Huddersfield was very clear that he would be prepared to leave Chelsea if first-team football was not on offer.
He said: “For me, playing for Chelsea will always be the main aim right now because it’s my club.
“But if that doesn’t happen, well then I have to find other ways to progress and become the player I want to be.”
