Todd Boehly led a consortium to take over as the new owners of Chelsea FC, after their bid beat a list of shortlisted candidates to buy over the club from Roman Abramovich.

Chelsea fans have been wondering what to expect from the new owners, after seeing Roman Abramovich invest massively into the club over the past 19 years.

As it stands, fans have been far from impressed, as Chelsea have seemed slow in the transfer market.

LA Dodgers’ chief executive Stan Kasten, has lavished praise on Todd Boehly for his work at the MLB club and has told Chelsea fans to expect a similar work at the club.

He said: “Todd [Boehly] is an incredible sports fan, very passionate about the teams, as is Mark [Walter] about all of the things we do – not just the team, but the stadium, stadium experience, community relations efforts.

“All three of these different areas were very important to all of them.

“They have always given us the resources we need to be leaders across the board in all of those programmes.

“I’m aggressive by nature, but they’ve always encouraged me to be more aggressive. That’s what we’ve experienced here, it’s what makes them the best owners in sports.

“It is one of those rare, premier, global, iconic brands, like the Dodgers, like the Lakers, Chelsea’s right in that same conversation. We are a good group to fit in.”

Todd Boehly has been acting as sporting director, after the departure of Marina Granovskaia and Petr Cech.

The American is trying to come to terms with certain aspects of leading the club in the right direction, starting from the summer transfer window.
