After weeks of negotiations, Chelsea have reached an agreement with Manchester City to sign Raheem Sterling in a deal worth £47.5 million.
Raheem Sterling had already agreed personal terms with Chelsea on a five-year contract with the option of a further 12 months.
The 27-year-old is set to become the highest earner at Chelsea, as he’s agreed terms to a deal of £300k per week.
Plans are now in top gear for a medical to take place in London. Once this is concluded, Sterling will join his new team-mates on their pre-season tour to the United States, as the team has already jetted to the US.
According to The Athletic, Sterling has spoken to Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel about what life is like at the club and his supposed role in the team.
The England international was impressed with the German coach’s vision for the club, The Athletic highlights.
Sterling who dumped Liverpool for Manchester City in a £44m deal, has spent seven years at City, and he scored 131 goals in 339 appearances for the reigning Premier League champions.
Reporter Fabrizio Romano has also confirmed the deal.
