Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has been spotted in Barcelona to discuss transfer signings.
Barcelona are interested in two Chelsea players – Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso, while Chelsea are going for Frenkie de Jong.
It is believed Chelsea are looking to hijack Frenkie de Jong’s move to Manchester United.
According to Spanish transfer expert Gerard Romero, Chelsea have submitted an irresistible bid to Barcelona for Manchester United transfer target De Jong.
Manchester United and Barcelona have reached an agreement on the value of De Jong’s transfer but both clubs are yet to reach an agreement on the structure of the transfer.
Manchester United’s last offer for Frenkie de Jong is €65million guaranteed plus €22million in add-ons.
Barcelona want €75million guaranteed from Manchester United plus €12million in add-ons.
Barcelona want a bulk of the transfer to be paid now so they can reinvest the funds into their squad this summer and Chelsea are willing to do just that.
With Manchester United delaying to seal the deal for De Jong, Chelsea have now moved to hijack the deal.
Barcelona in turn will use this opportunity to discuss their interest in Azpilicueta and Alonso.
If it was just about a move for Azpilicueta and Alonso, Barca officials would have made the trip to London.
But Todd Boehly is however looking to hijack a move for De Jong and made the trip to Spain, and we’d wait for more updates on this transfer report.
