Chelsea’s move for Raheem Sterling is almost a done deal.

The Blues have agreed personal terms with the Man City star to make the switch to Stamford Bridge.

Raheem Sterling is now set to become Chelsea’s highest paid player, with wages of £300k per week.

Sterling will overtake N’Golo Kante to become Chelsea’s highest earner, with Kante currently earning £290k per week.

According to reports, talks between Chelsea and City will be concluded within the next 24 hours, with a fee of £45m expected to be agreed.

Sterling scored 13 goals in the Premier League last season and started 23 games.

Former Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has hailed the signing of Sterling, but the former Blue insists Chelsea need a goalscorer.

He said: “They need a goalscorer. Sterling’s a great player, a very good player but he’s not an out and out number nine.

“So I think if you’re gonna get Sterling you still need a goalscorer with him.

“We all know about Sterling and what he can do, how good he is, how quick he is and how determined he is, so great signing. But I still think they need a 20+ goalscorer in their squad.”

According to The Telegraph, Sterling has been ‘impressed’ by Tuchel’s plans and talks between the pair were ‘constructive’.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are hopeful to seal the deal on time, so that Sterling will be able to fly with his new teammates to Los Angeles for the start of their pre-season tour on Saturday.
