Do Chelsea want Cristiano Ronaldo? This is the question many are pondering at the moment.

The Portugal star signed up for Manchester United last year, and ended up being their top goalscorer with 24 goals in 38 appearances.

According to reports, Ronaldo wants to leave Manchester United, as he’s keen on playing Champions League football next season.

Ronaldo is said to be disappointed with the lack of ambition at Old Trafford upon his return to the club.

The Ronaldo to Chelsea rumours is bringing new arguments. Some believe it’s a good deal, but some Blues fans think the 37-year-old is way past his best.

But one thing is certain about the Portugal international – he will score goals no matter what.

Chelsea need a goalscorer, and the Blues currently do not have one. Romelu Lukaku was bought for £97.5m last summer, and ended up scoring just 8 league goals – 7 less than Cristiano Ronaldo.

What does Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel think of the Portugal international?

We’d take a look back at what the Chelsea boss said of Ronaldo before Chelsea’s Champions League clash with Juventus.

“Time will tell, but it is not a secret that any team in the world without Cristiano is in some parts of the game a weaker team,” he said.

“He is one of the greatest who has ever played this game and he proves it every time he is on the field.

“Now [Ronaldo is] in the Premier League and in the Champions League, so [Juventus] lost a big champion, a big point of reference and a big personality.

“But you can win games and be a strong team without Cristiano Ronaldo. This is also true.”
