Chelsea have been linked with a summer transfer move for Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo.

Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has been seen with Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes, which triggered the rumours.

However, reliable transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has as well claimed that Ronaldo has told Manchester United that he wants to leave the club due to the lack of ambition.

Ronaldo scored 24 goals in 38 appearances for Manchester United last season, and despite being 37, the Portugal international has shown that he is still a top player.

Romano told GiveMeSport about Chelsea’s links with Ronaldo: “At the moment, I would mention Chelsea because it’s true Jorge Mendes had contact with Todd Boehly and we know Todd is taking care directly of all the transfers for Chelsea, so they’ve been offered this possibility to discuss about Cristiano.

“But Chelsea have not followed up with a proposal or something like this for Cristiano Ronaldo.”

Neymar is another name that have been linked with Chelsea, but it’s a deal that’s not expected to happen.

According to former Chelsea defender Frank Leboeuf, Ronaldo will be a better signing than Neymar.

Chelsea news reporter Vince quotes Frank Leboeuf: “I would pick Ronaldo because they (Chelsea) need someone to finish the actions and score and be more clinical.

“Neymar is not going to happen, I don’t think Tuchel wants him because he had so many issues when he was the coach of PSG.”

Do you think a deal for Ronaldo would be a nice move by Chelsea?
