Chelsea are set to bring in some fresh names to the club this summer.
The Blues are closing in on Raphinha and Raheem Sterling, while Chelsea have also been linked with Ousmane Dembele, who’s now a free agent.
If Chelsea end up signing these forward players, the club may have to sell off some forward players as well.
The likes of Christian Pulisic, Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner may be expendable this summer, as their consistency was called into question last season.
For Hakim Ziyech, much was expected of him after he signed up for Chelsea two years ago.
The Morocco international moved to Stamford Bridge after four stellar seasons with Ajax, where he scored 49 times and assisted 80 goals across all competitions.
In the 2018/19 season, Ziyech had a sensational season where he scored 21 goals and assisted 24 others in 49 appearances for Ajax, helping them to the UEFA Champions League semi-finals.
Ziyech failed to show that same level of brilliance on a continual basis for Chelsea.
The £32m signing suffered a knee injury at the start of his Chelsea career, before a hip injury forced him on the sidelines again.
He had his injury spells last season, but remained injury free for most of the second half of the season, but Thomas Tuchel opted against using him regularly.
Ziyech is now close to sealing a loan deal with AC Milan ahead of next season.
Italian journalist Rudy Galetti, had revealed recently that AC Milan were closing in on a move to sign Chelsea forward Hakim Ziyech in the summer transfer window.
The Serie A champions are set to table a loan offer for the Moroccan international with an option to buy him for €20 million to €25 million.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has also confirmed that the Ziyech to Milan rumours are true.
Romano said via a tweet: “AC Milan are in direct contact with Chelsea for Hakim Ziyech since last week. Milan are getting confident as Ziyech’s absolutely open to join the club. #ACMilan
“Chelsea and Milan are discussing of the potential formula of the deal.”
