After what has been a very slow start to the summer transfer window for Chelsea, everything is now beginning to fall into place for the club.

Chelsea are close to wrapping up a deal for Leeds winger Raphinha, and that signing is expected to lead to a plethora of signings for the club.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea would focus on the defensive targets after sealing the deal for Raphinha.

Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly has been added to the list of the Blues’ options, along with Matthijs de Ligt, Nathan Ake and Jules Kounde.

ABC Sevilla has reported that Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has finally made contact with Sevilla over a transfer.

The report claims that Boehly reached out to Sevilla on Wednesday morning to begin work on a deal for Jules Kounde.

Kounde had agreed personal terms with Chelsea last year, and there is now a feeling from all parties that the transfer will be relatively uncomplicated to complete, with Sevilla lowering their asking price.

Sevilla are keen to make the sale before July 5 – an important date financially, as well as the day before Sevilla depart on a pre-season tour in Portugal.

Chelsea are expected to sign at least two centre-backs this summer, as replacement for the departed Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.

With Marina Granovskaia and Petr Cech vacating their roles at the end of the month, Boehly has a huge job in helping Thomas Tuchel get his players for next season.

Todd Boehly has a principle of letting the manager choose his players – a principle which is new at Stamford Bridge, as the sporting directors at the club have been in charge of transfers all the while.

Boehly is getting a grip of how things are done and is now on the offensive regarding Chelsea’s other targets.
