Romelu Lukaku’s loan deal to Inter Milan has now been finalised.
Chelsea have confirmed the loan deal for the Belgium international.
Chelsea released a statement, thus: “Romelu Lukaku will spend the 2022/23 campaign with Inter Milan after completing a season-long loan move from Chelsea.”
Romano tweeted about the deal: “Romelu Lukaku deal, completed. His advisor Sébastien Ledure tells Sky: ‘We have signed all the documents. Inter and Chelsea’s new owner did great job’ told @MatteoBarzaghi. 🔵 #CFC
“What happens next year? We don’t know yet, we’ll see in 2023 – now’s time to enjoy his comeback”.
Lukaku flew into Milan airport around 6.20am local time and posed with an Inter scarf before getting in a car.
“I’m so happy to be back,” he said. Having completed his medical, Lukaku has officially been announced as a new Inter player.
Lukaku will now return to the Italian side where he previously spent two years and won the Serie A title.
Lukaku scored just eight Premier League goals in 26 outings last season after returning to Stamford Bridge for a club-record fee of £97.5m.
It’s yet to be seen what will happen after his one-year loan with Inter Milan.
According to Sky Sports, Lukaku agreed to a 30-per-cent pay cut to make his return to Inter Milan possible, with his earnings set to drop from £10m per year after tax to £7m.
