Chelsea are in the market to sign at least two centre-backs this summer.

The Blues have been linked with Sevilla’s defender Jules Kounde, Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly, Manchester City’s Nathan Ake and Juventus Matthijs de Ligt.

It’s yet to be seen which of the defensive duo would sign up for Chelsea.

According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Chelsea have both De Ligt and Inter Milan’s Milan Skriniar on their radar as Thomas Tuchel looks to bring in defensive reinforcements this summer, after losing Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.

Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport has claimed that De Ligt had turned down Juventus offer of a contract renewal.

The 22-year-old signed for Juventus from Ajax in 2019 after impressing in the Dutch club’s run to the UEFA Champions League semi-final under new Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag’s leadership.

Juventus signed De Ligt in order to help the Turin club transition to a new era with its playing squad.

Juventus dominance in Italy had died down and the team has struggled in the past few seasons – and they are no longer that force that they once were.

Reports from Italy suggest that De Ligt is keen on a move away from Juventus, as he attracts interest from Chelsea and other European giants.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea would focus on the defenders after sealing the deal for Raphinha.

Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly has been added to the list of the Blues’ options, along with Matthijs de Ligt, Nathan Ake and Jules Kounde.

Fabrizio Romano revealed in a tweet: “Kalidou Koulibaly, one more name in the list for Chelsea as they keep searching for two centre backs. He’s out of contract with Napoli in 2023.  #CFC

“Been told there are conversations also on Koulibaly alongside de Ligt, Aké, Koundé. Focus on Raphinha, and then centre backs.”
