Chelsea new owner Todd Boehly has a lot of work on his hands, and the American billionaire will surely have to learn on the job.

With Marina Granovskaia and Petr Cech vacating their roles at the end of the month, Boehly has a huge job in helping Thomas Tuchel get his players for next season.

Todd Boehly has a principle of letting the manager choose his players – a principle which is new at Stamford Bridge, as the sporting directors at the club have been in charge of transfers all the while.

Chelsea targets this summer have taken a different look from what we’ve been accustomed to.

Thomas Tuchel has decided to let go of Romelu Lukaku, and the Blues haven’t been linked with an out-and-out striker, but rather pacey and tricky forwards, which clearly shows that Tuchel is trying to build a team of his own.

The attack and defence are the two areas Thomas Tuchel really want to strengthen.

The American billionaire had been criticised, as Todd Boehly is yet to make a signing. But all that is about to change.

At the moment, Chelsea are fully focused on sealing the deal for Leeds winger Raphinha, and would move on to other targets afterward.

Raheem Sterling is another deal that’s expected to happen this summer, and according to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea would focus on the defenders after sealing the deal for Raphinha.

Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly has been added to the list of the Blues’ options, along with Matthijs de Ligt, Nathan Ake and Jules Kounde.

Fabrizio Romano revealed in a tweet: “Kalidou Koulibaly, one more name in the list for Chelsea as they keep searching for two centre backs. He’s out of contract with Napoli in 2023. 🔵 #CFC

“Been told there are conversations also on Koulibaly alongside de Ligt, Aké, Koundé. Focus on Raphinha, and then centre backs.”

All hands will definitely be on deck as Todd Boehly works on signing these players.
