Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has held a surprise meeting with the agent of Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo.
According to The Athletic, Boehly who bought Chelsea from Roman Abramovich last month, met super agent Jorge Mendes in Portugal.
It’s yet to be known what transpired is the meeting between Boehly and Jorge Mendes, but rumour mongers claim that they talked about the possibility of the Portugal legend, Ronaldo making a move to Stamford Bridge.
According to confirmed reports, Inter Milan have agreed a deal to sign Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku on a season-long loan deal, after the Belgian international endured an underwhelming spell since returning to Stamford Bridge.
Lukaku struggle to score 8 league goals last season and 15 in all competitions – a far cry from what’s expected from a £97.5m signing.
Ronaldo has a year left on his contract with Manchester United, with rumours claiming that he may be interested in a move away from Old Trafford.
Sources at Stamford Bridge however insist that Todd Boehly isn’t interested in signing Cristiano Ronaldo but saw Ronaldo’s agent for some other reason.
“I was and still am very happy to be here,” Ronaldo recently said about his future at Old Trafford.
“I know Ten Hag did a fantastic job for Ajax and that he’s an experienced coach but we need to give him time and things need to change the way he wants.
“I hope we have success. I wish him the best. We are happy and excited. Let’s believe that next year we are going to win trophies.
“I believe that Manchester [United] will be where they belong. Sometimes it takes time but I still believe.”
Chelsea FC have become so unattractive such that even a player like Rafinha could reject Chelsea. Something must be going wrong A club world class players were on their knees to join yesterday.
It’s time the owners defined which direction they are taking the club. I believe this will take doubt out of people’s minds and be sure of what they are joining.
