Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour spent last season on loan with Norwich City.

Gilmour’s loan spell didn’t go as planned, as the Canaries were relegated having finished bottom of the league.

It’s yet to be seen what will become of Gilmour next season, whether he’d go out on loan or remain with Chelsea.

Chelsea hero Pat Nevin has backed the 21-year-old to return to Scotland, but can’t see Billy Gilmour moving to Celtic.

According to the Chelsea legend, his family wouldn’t allow him to move to Celtic due to the rivalry that exist between them and Rangers.

Neville told the Scottish Sun: “I know Billy a bit and his family and yeah Rangers would suit his style and so would Celtic.

“Knowing his family though, the Celtic one is unlikely.

“He’s different class Billy, he’s a super player. But he needs to be playing for a team who plays good football which is suited to him.

“I think Celtic and Rangers style would work for him, but because of his family, it wouldn’t be Celtic for him.”
