Former Chelsea star Joe Cole has revealed that he was happy when Chelsea signed Olivier Giroud from Arsenal last summer, and he has revealed that he’s a massive fan of Giroud.
The Frenchman recently ended a goal drought of 794 minutes having not scored since the end of last season in May.
Giroud didn’t score in the World Cup despite playing a key role as France went on to become world champions and he ended that poor run by scoring the only goal for Chelsea in the Europa League on Thursday.
The World Cup winner scored his first goal of the season as Chelsea beat BATE Borisov to confirm their progression from Europa League Group L.
Cole has now revealed that he’s a big fan of Giroud.
“I’m a massive fan,” Cole said on BT Sport.
“I was delighted when we signed him.
“To score 100 goals at any level but to score it for a club like Arsenal and then to come to Chelsea.
“He did great last season, he did great at the World Cup.
“He’s one of them players you like playing with.
“I’m sure Michael [Owen] would have liked to have played off him.”
