Alvaro Morata has been finding his form back of recent, and the Chelsea striker scored a brace as Chelsea defeated Palace 3-1 at Stamford Bridge on Sunday evening.

After the game, Chelsea boss hailed Morata’s performance but admitted that Morata is fragile.

Sarri said: “He has great potential physically and technically. He can improve more. Potentially he can be (a top striker at a top club). Sometimes he is a little bit fragile.”

Chelsea legend Ruud Gullit has defended Morata and insists that he isn’t fragile but the team isn’t playing to his strength.

Speaking to Match of the Day, he said: “I have to defend Morata a little bit because I don’t think it’s all his fault. Luckily he scored two goals but I want to tell you why he scored two goals and why he’s that fragile, because he’s lost confidence and not only because he doesn’t score goals but because of situations in play. All the players at Chelsea all the time want to come inside. There is no room for him.

“On the moment he needs to be in the box he isn’t because normally they don’t give that ball. He’s expecting a pass back inside. All of a sudden when they put crosses in, now he gets involved a bit and other players need to come to him because he will do all the things he is supposed to do.

“Eventually the ball gets closer to him and then he scores the goal. Ball goes down the outside. They want to cross the ball. He gets it and scores the goal. He is a player he needs balls into the box. His second was a typical striker’s goal.

“Why isn’t Alonso crossing it? We’ve seen Morata hesitating because he knows the ball isn’t coming in front of the goal and it’s not only his fault he’s lost his confidence for this reason. I hope that this gives confidence and I also hope that the team will give him crosses into the box.

“For the goal, it was Morata who made the run in the first point and that’s why the ball comes in.”

Gullit believes Chelsea should play to Morata’s strength if they want to see the best of the Spaniard.

He added: “They need to play to his strengths. He is a box player. Get the ball into the box. Don’t let him go out and all the time go inside. It’s difficult for any striker. No player can play like this.”

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.

That’s very true. They don’t have confidence in Alvaro, thus he is not sure when the ball will be passed to him. Everyone is looking for Hazard or someone else to give the ball.
