Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri equalled the Premier League record for the longest unbeaten run by a new Premier League manager in his first season thanks to Chelsea’s 3-1 victory over Crystal Palace on Sunday.

Sarri is unbeaten in his first 11 Premier League games in charge since replacing Antonio Conte as Chelsea manager.

Alvaro Morata’s brace and Pedro’s goal helped Chelsea beat Crystal Palace 3-1 on Sunday to move the Blues ahead of Liverpool on goal difference into second place.

Sarri’s 11 games unbeaten run as a new manager in the Premier League equalled the record set by Nottingham Forest boss Frank Clark between August and October 1994.

Asked about matching the unbeaten record, Sarri said: “I am very proud to be the coach of this team.

“It is not a record of the coach, it is the team. I was lucky because I have very good players.

“They were able to win without a great level of appreciation in the tactical area.”

Sarri is also yet to taste defeat in any competitive game this season, with the Blues unbeaten in the Europa League and Carabao Cup.

Sarri can move ahead of Clark and set a new record if Chelsea can avoid defeat against Everton in our next Premier League game at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
