Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata made it three goals in three games after scoring a brace as Chelsea beat Crystal Palace 3-1 at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
Morata had a chance to score a hat-trick late after been put through on goal by Eden Hazard but his attempted lob over Wayne Hennessy, was well read by the Crystal Palace goalkeeper who stood tall and made a comfortable save.
When asked about the missed chance to get a hat-trick, Morata told Sky Sports: “I honestly think in the last 10 mins to make the third, I thought keeper would go on floor.
“I can score hat-trick [so it] is not perfect day but we take three points, we are in first three places.
“The important thing for us we want to fight until the end for Premier League.
“Today I think a lot about the hat-trick it’s not good, I’m improving, I want to work and to help my team.
“The goals are like this, when you have a very bad period it takes long to recover.
“Last year was difficult for me for many things.
“You don’t expect an injury and I played when not fit, now the team is good and it’s time to enjoy this.”
Morata has scored one hat-trick for Chelsea and that came at Stoke last season in a 4-0 victory.
