Maurizio Sarri has made most Chelsea lovers happy with his performance so far as manager of our great club. Both players and fans have enjoyed the wonderful football brought by the Italian to Stamford Bridge in just 3 months. But as some are happy with Sarri, there are others who could be unhappy with the man’s selections for games this season.

Fans who feel that Gary Cahill and Andreas Christensen were good last season, and deserve a shot at starting this term are chief at criticising Sarri over the development. Even the aforementioned players themselves have hinted they’re unhappy with the situation in recent interviews.

Cahill had earlier said he wasn’t going to sit around and wait for the coach to choose him to start, and instead, he was going to look for a new club if things did not improve with his situation by January.

Christensen also expressed his dissatisfaction over his lack of game time recently, but both these guys may have shown they’re not ready to start, and vindicated Sarri’s choice to drop them in the EPL.

On Wednesday night, against Derby County, Cahill and Christensen were chosen to protect our goalkeeper, but instead of seizing the chance to perform well, we saw two players who were totally out of sorts, and were mostly out of position.

On a different day, Lampard would have gotten one over his former club, as his Derby side were clinical in their finishing, and showed bravery for most of the encounter – in fact, we might have won by 3 to 2, but we only scored one real goal courtesy of Cesc Fabregas; the rest were own goals by Derby players, who also scored two fine goals of their own.

It was a good win for us, even though it wasn’t the most convincing, but the one thing I liked about it is the fact that Cahill and Christensen will now understand that they need to work hard if they must beat the defensive duo of Antonio Rudiger and David Luiz.

What makes him perfect for this blog? He lives for Chelsea FC, in fact, I heard he sat in the middle of a road, and refused to go home after that bitter loss to Barcelona in 2009. Haha.
