The match between Chelsea and Manchester United ended in an entertaining 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge.

Here are 3 talking points from the game:

CHELSEA STUN MOURINHO AND MANCHESTER UNITED WITH LAST-GASP EQUALISER:

This was a game with different shades to it. For Sarri and his Chelsea side this game was a chance to prove the title credentials and also inflict more misery on former boss, Jose Mourinho. On the other hand, United needed to win this game to boost their confidence after a slow start to the season. While the Blues started the game the brighter of the two sides and even took a deserved lead courtesy of an Antonio Rudiger goal in the first half, United fired back via a brace from Anthony Martial. Chelsea and Sarri could have faced a defeat for the first time this season, but Ross Barkley salvaged the situation for the Blues as his late strike at the death shared the spoils between both sides much to the chagrin of the beleaguered United boss. At the end a draw was a fair result for both sides.

CHELSEA LOST CONTROL, UNITED CAPITALISE:

Chelsea new playing style meant that we were expected to dominate the game and so did the Blues, and at some point it felt like an exhibition game. Our early lead was meant to be the catalyst that should have seen us win this game, but somehow we let United into the game. A quandary in the Chelsea final third led to United equaliser and the non-existence of our backline via sloppy defending led to Martial’s well-taken second. Chelsea lost control and United almost made us pay for this.

CHELSEA NEEDS A RELIABLE STRIKER TO LIMIT OUR DEPENEDENCE ON HAZARD:

Chelsea all-round play lacks the cutting of a reliable striker that can deliver the goals to give the club a chance of challenging for the title. For much of the game it was obvious the onus was on Hazard to provide magical moments that will win the game for us. United though stifled his influence to an extent, and the presence of a fearsome striker would have eased the burden on the Belgian. Better still, other players in the side would need to step up and contribute to the cause for Chelsea to have a real chance of winning silverware this season.

Let’s hope for the best. Cheers!
