Ahead of Chelsea’s Premier League clash with Manchester United at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has admitted he is surprised by their poor start to the season.

Manchester United are eight in the Premier League after losing three of their eight games so far with this season.

Asked if he was surprised by United’ start, Sarri told reporters: “A little bit, but it can happen.

“We are talking only about 8 matches, they are doing well in the CL so they can improve in the PL, we are talking about two months.”

Despite their poor start to the season, Sarri insists Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho deserves respect.

“We are talking about a coach that has won everything, everywhere, so I think you have to respect him,” Sarri told reporters.

“I think you all have to respect him.

“I think he is a very good coach, a very good manager and one of the best in the world.”
