One of the season’s crunch ties will be coming up this Saturday when we welcome Manchester United to Stamford Bridge. Over the years, it has been one of the most keenly contested fixtures, and has seen us get more share of the wins than our rivals IN recent times. The lunch-time kick-off on Saturday seems more in our favour, for obvious reasons, but who’s to say that Manchester United cannot pull off a surprise come Saturday?

What exactly can Chelsea fans look forward to in the fixture?

Manchester United aren’t in the best of form at the moment, and have lost three league games so far. Their players are down on confidence, and I personally think there’s no better time to play them than now. Of course, as a lover of good football, it makes more sense to take them on at their best, but that isn’t even a question at this time because it’s a competition, and only maximum points matter. We have to rack up as much as we can, and keep things great for us at the top.

So what can we expect? It should be an easy ride for us on paper, judging by form, however, knowing how interesting the tie has been in recent years, and the man they have as coach, one cannot entirely write them off.

Mourinho knows his team are not the best right now, so he will probably play the game he’s known for – to shape his team in a strong defensive set-up, and hope for a draw at least. But we have the quality to break them down, and I’ll be hoping it is a great game for Chelsea. I think we have the quality to break them down score goals to boost our goal difference, and we will give them enough heat to breakthrough as we’ve seen against teams before now.

Overall, Chelsea versus Manchester United should be a keenly contested, and I believe it will go our way because we’re just in an entirely different level at the moment. This is a different Chelsea side than Mou is used to. No matter how he tries, we will definitely walk out winners on the afternoon.
