Michy Batshuayi started his life on loan at Borussia Dortmund with a bang as the Chelsea loanee scored five goals in his first three games for BVB.

The Chelsea man then hit a goal rut and didn’t score in his next five games which made the manager Peter Stoger drop him for Sunday’s game against Eintracht Frankfurt.

Batshuayi came off the bench to score two goals and his second goal ended up being the match winner in an important clash against Frankfurt who are fighting with Dortmund for a Champions League spot next season.

Batshuayi admits the manager made the right decision to drop him for this game as he felt very much rested for the match.

“I’m very relieved because I have not scored in recent games and have been able to help my team in the Champions League fight,” Batshuayi said after sending Dortmund back up to third.

“It was a very important victory against a team that had taken as many points as we had.

“For my goal to win the game I thought at first, ‘I am offside’, was briefly irritated, then I just shot, and it went in.

“I was not disappointed that I did not play from the beginning. The coach decides.

“I was tired after the last games, so I came into the game fresh.”
