Former Chelsea midfielder Steve Sidwell has observed how Chelsea star Eden Hazard differs to Barcelona’s Lionel Messi and Juventus Cristiano Ronaldo.
According to Sidwell, Hazard always wears a smile on his face compared to the likes of Ronaldo and Messi, who are often seen looking stern.
“What I love about him when I watch him play is he always has a smile on his face,” Sidwell said.
“He’s not as serious as the Ronaldos and Messis. He seems to be that he could go again – does that make sense?
“It’s like he’s got another level to go and the way his team play, I remember watching the West Ham game a few weeks back, he was desperate for Morata to score.
“He went through and tried to backheel it for Morata when he could have scored himself.
“For him to propel himself to the next, next level, he would need to be a man possessed and score more goals.
“But still, he’s a phenomenal world class player.”
Hazard has been linked with a move to Real Madrid with a former Chelsea midfielder Bolo Zenden encouraging him to leave Stamford Bridge if he is to be considered one of the best in the world.
“It will be hard for Chelsea to keep him, with Barcelona, Real Madrid and Paris Saint Germain around,” Zenden told the Mirror.
“He needs a move to Barcelona or Madrid to be up there, classed with the best in the world.
“Yes, he has done it in England. But with that platform of having played for the likes of Barcelona or Real, that is what they look for when they decide the player of the year.”
