Maurizio Sarri has often underplayed the seriousness of Chelsea’s title challenge this term, citing a new philosophy and style as the primary reason that is so, but after seven games in the league, and nine across all competitions thus far, I am sure that he will be rethinking his position.

Chelsea have won five out of the seven league fixtures we have been involved in this season, and seven in total, of the nine we have played across all competitions. We are yet to lose a game, and the only slip ups we’ve suffered were draws against West Ham and Liverpool. We have played some incredibly exciting football while on this journey, with almost every department of the team representing well.

We have played some difficult teams, but up until Saturday evening, not too many people realised just how prepared and solid we are. Our defence and midfield have put in great work against all opposition thus far, and were even more phenomenal against Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool. Everything seems just about right for us to mount a genuine title challenge against Manchester City, but there yet remains some work to be done in attack.

Eden Hazard may be scoring the goals at the moment, but I doubt he can be that perfect till the end of the season, and even if he is, we need all the goals we can get. With the likes of City and Liverpool scoring mostly from attack, we cannot have a different story.

So far this season, only Alvaro Morata has scored between our two strikers, and even he is only a goal ahead of Olivier Giroud who is yet to register.

It is even more frustrating that the chances have been coming, but they just haven’t been good enough to convert them. And with the summer transfer window already closed, we can only manage the situation until January when we can make an addition.

Either ways, it is important that we start getting goals from the striking department, as that would be very crucial to our title push.

This Chelsea side has everything working perfectly for it at the moment; however, Sarri will have to overhaul his strike force if we are to fully get into gear.

What makes him perfect for this blog? He lives for Chelsea FC, in fact, I heard he sat in the middle of a road, and refused to go home after that bitter loss to Barcelona in 2009. Haha.
