One of the best football comebacks in history was recorded on Wednesday, when Chelsea took on current leaders of the Premier League, Liverpool, at Anfield.

The keenly contested game saw both sides at their best, but it was the Blues who had the final say in the end.

After Daniel Sturridge put Liverpool one goal up, it seemed like they were going to knock us out of the competition but Sarri’s inspired changes saw Chelsea overturn the deficit and come out on top after 90 minutes.

Emerson’s first Chelsea goal cancelled out Liverpool’s, and then, Eden Hazard settled things in our favour with a fine solo effort that culminated in a potential goal of the season.

That win has continued to echo around the world, but it is only one of the two fixtures we have against the Reds this week.

On Saturday, we also play them at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League and while there’s talk of revenge from them, I believe that we are even more primed to do a double over them this week.

Our failure to beat West Ham last weekend was supposed to demoralise us but the boys showed they were far from that on Wednesday, by winning a side known for great attacking football this season. So you can only imagine how motivated our boys must be after that win. They will come out on Saturday evening hoping for nothing, but a second win in a week. And the win will be crucial seeing as we hope to get back on top of the league table.

They have said they will be better when they come over to Stamford Bridge this weekend with the likes of Firmino and Mo Salah returning to their starting XI but Liverpool forget that we also rested most of our starting eleven on Wednesday.

It should be a good game, and for all Chelsea fans, there will be nothing better than a win today.

What makes him perfect for this blog? He lives for Chelsea FC, in fact, I heard he sat in the middle of a road, and refused to go home after that bitter loss to Barcelona in 2009. Haha.
