Diego Costa was a man on fire as Atletico Madrid defeated Real Madrid 4-2 in the Super Cup clash on Wednesday night.

The former Chelsea hitman netted a brace in that game and his first goal came after just 53 seconds when he smashed one past Keylor Navas and for his second, he finished off Angel Correa’s cutback ten minutes from time to level the game at 2-2.

In admiration of his former Chelsea teammate, Cesc Fabregas simply tweeted: “DIEGO”.

Costa left Chelsea January last year after falling out with former boss Antonio Conte, and Chelsea fans responded to Fabregas’ tweet by admitting they miss him.

One tweeted: “Can you convince him to come back please?”

Another commented: “I really miss that guy.”

One user commented: “Thank Conte, for letting him go.”

Another user just wants to see our former fan favourite back at the Bridge as he tweeted: “Get him back to Chelsea.”
