If a report on The Times via Daily Mail is to be believed, then Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak would have been a Chelsea goalkeeper and not Kepa Arrizabalaga.

According to the report, Oblak rejected the chance to join Chelsea after the Blues met his £89.4million (€100m) release clause.

The 25-year-old Atletico Madrid goalkeeper opted against joining Chelsea because he wants to play Champions League football.

With Thibaut Courtois agitating for a move to Real Madrid, Chelsea then signed Kepa Arrizabalaga for a world-record fee of £72million on Wednesday.
