France have defeated Belgium 1-0 to reach the final of the World Cup in Russia as Samuel Umtiti’s 51st minute header was enough for Didier Deschamps men to get the victory.
Thibaut Courtois and Eden Hazard were up against Olivier Giroud and N’Golo Kante, but Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma rooted for his national team, France.
Zouma who had a successful loan spell with Crystal Palace urged France to get the victory over his friends from Belgium and he rightly predicted a 1-0 win for France.
“Now I hope France win the game today, an important game, they have to win it,” Zouma told the official Chelsea website.
“Two of my friends, and it will be nice to watch.
“N’Golo, the way he plays is very good in the midfield, and Eden we know is the captain of Belgium and both are doing so well in the World Cup, like their teams, but I hope N’Golo will win it.”
Asked to predict tonight’s result, Zouma said: “I think 1-0 for France, 1-0 in 90 minutes.”
