Former Chelsea striker Fernando Torres has announced that Japanese club Sagan Tosu will be his next club after a second spell at Atletico madrid.

Torres spent three years at Chelsea after moving to Stamford Bridge for rivals Liverpool, and it was a move that drew hatred from the Anfield fans.

The Spaniard made 172 appearances for Chelsea and scored 45 goals in all competitions in all competitions for Chelsea, and many believe he was a flop at Chelsea.

However, the 34-year-old has told his critics that he had a wonderful time at Chelsea, and it is the club where he won the biggest trophies.

According to Dermot Corrigan, Torres said: “Often people have an idea of my time at Chelsea that I do not share. In the end it was the club where I won most titles – in three years I won the biggest trophies there, so I remember that experience very fondly.”

Torres won the FA Cup, Champions League and Europa League while in Chelsea after a trophyless career at Liverpool.

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
